This project is about maximizing quality of design on a limited budget. The State of Iowa needed a larger facility for providing meals at a correctional facility while keeping the current facility operational. The success of this project is due to careful planning and close collaboration with the client.

An addition was constructed to provide new dining and food preparation spaces to accommodate a growing facility population and increase security within the facility. A separate building was built as a new warehouse for facility storage.

Construction of the kitchen was phased to allow continual operation of the existing facility. All new construction is built of structural precast concrete panels for durability, as requested by the client. The result of the updated spaces and expansion make an efficient space for kitchen operations and security.
